Variations on the body

The french philosopher Michel Serres is a fascinating figure in continental thought. His associative musings are at the same time humble, stunning, and provocative.

However, in anglophone sport studies, sport research, sport philosophy, and sport science he is rather unknown.

I'm convinced that Serres has a lot to contribute with to sport scholars in their understanding of the phenomenon.

As an introduction to his multifaceted oeuvre, 'Variations on the body' -- a treatise that he wrote in honor of his PE teachers and climbing instructors -- is shared to the readers of 'Towards a minor sport'.

(Thanks to Randolph Burks who translated, and to Milton Friesen who shared).
